Killing Boys (Bubblegum #1) by KB Nelson Cover Reveal

COVER REVEAL

KILLING BOYS

bubblegumcover7 copy

COMING NOVEMBER 10, 2015

BLURB

A quaint New England town is thrown into chaos when a serial killer begins targeting the male virgin population of a prestigious private academy. Young, dumb, and horny, the terrified young men begin to scramble to cash in their V-cards before it’s too late. Soon, a copycat killer emerges, but with an entirely different motive; to target all the girls who’ve already rounded home plate. The popular girls are forced into hiding while their peers swear off boys—at least until the killers are brought to justice. Mass hysteria ensues as a desperate fight for survival begins. The student population is on their own as an inept faculty launches a campaign to save the school’s reputation. When everyone’s a suspect, trust is a commodity best left for the most intimate of friends. Killing Boys is a thrilling and sexy throwback to the slasher films of the 90’s, with a comedic stab of dark humor. Recommended for mature readers (16+) due to sexual content, graphic violence, graphic language, offensive dialogue, drug use, and shitty behavior by bratty teenagers in general.

EXCERPT

“All I’m saying is that if you catch me with one of the students." Monica nods her head, and a dreamy smile swims across her lips. "I don’t know, lets say Crash Cooper in the Janitor’s closet after third block, but before fourth, I don’t want to be put in a position where I’m prone to lose my job.” “If you sleep with the students, you’re fired," Campbell snaps. “Not only will you be fired, but the next person you sleep with is going to be Miss. Manson, your future cellmate, and she’ll have an active outbreak of herpes.” Monica recoils in her chair, swallowing a visible lump in her throat. “Which kind?” “HSV-2.” “You have one of them, you have them all." She shrugs and slaps her hand against the long wooden conference table. "Am I right?” “Don’t sleep with the students.”

Bad Situation (Bad Reputation #2) by K.B. Nelson Review

Hey readers, Happy Sunday! Ethan here and I'm way behind on my reviews so I'm going to try and knock a few out of the way today. First up is a new release from one of my favorite New Adult authors of mine and also a dear friend, the incredible K.B. Nelson. On the chopping block today? Bad Situation, the highly anticipated second installment in the Bad Reputation series. Before we get to my thoughts, here's a bit about the novel and our author.

Obsession.
Addiction.
Loss.

Brick Valmont lost more than an ex-lover when Apple Malloy fell in love with Jensen Moon. Forced to face his issues, he seeks counseling from a psychologist who may have an agenda of her own. Meanwhile, Brick makes a valiant effort to reel Tyra Young back into his web of deceit to prove to Apple once and for all, that he will always be the king.

Apple Malloy knows she’s a changed woman, and refuses to be dragged back into Brick’s manipulative world. When she returns home to Carolina to collect her belongings, she’s forced to face the darkest pieces of her past. She must choose between loving Jensen, or slipping back into her old ways.

Bad Situation reunites Brick, Apple, Jensen, Cece, Dom, and Tyra in an escalating game of sexual seduction. And when the games go too far, someone will be forced to pay the ultimate price.

I promise there will be a happy ending.

My Thoughts:

Allow me to be completely honest with you guys here. I was not anticipating this to be a novel I enjoyed, at all. While Bad Reputation definitely kept me intrigued, the idea of a redemption story for Brick gave me the worst taste in my mouth. As far as characters go, I'd never met one that I thought was damaged beyond repair. One person who never deserved a ray of hope or an ounce of salvation. Then I met Brick Valmont. This deeply disturbed guy is evil down to his very core, even after reading, I'm still not sold on him. I can say, however, that KB Nelson did an absolutely incredible job in warming my heart towards Brick and see that there can be redemption for even the darkest of souls.

Bad Situation is a whole lot like it's predecessor Bad Reputation, in fact, this almost reads as an extension of book one rather than an entirely separate novel. As told from both Apple and Brick's POV, we learn that Apple's 'happily ever after' we read in book one may not be all it's cracked up to be. With more heartbreak, more deception, and more drama, Bad Reputation sets the stage for Apple and Brick's groundbreaking finale in the best ways possible!

While I enjoyed book one, I was really turned off at times by the fact that this series is more or less about using love and sex as a game. Thankfully Nelson upped the ante in book two. While the game is still in play, the goals are a little more realistic and the sex really isn't as overbearing as book one. On a negative note, I will say that this is probably one of the most dramatic reads I've ever encountered. So much so that I had to put the book down several times and walk away. It's the good 'soap opera' kind of drama that leads me to wonder how many Daytime Emmy's Nelson has under her belt, but doesn't always appeal to me.

With twists and turns at every page, Nelson never lets the characters get too comfortable before tossing another wrench to their plans. I have to say that I was impressed with so many plot points that I didn't see coming, it was a treat to be constantly surprised. This story will definitely keep you on your toes.

I have to add that when it comes to characters, I really think Nelson outdid herself when it came to character development with Brick and Tyra (Brick's newest conquest). While Apple ultimately fell short for me in this installment (in fact I think I could have done without her at all), Nelson's passion to redeem Brick was evident in the embodiment of Tyra. Tyra was written to perfection and really guided the story in the best of ways. In fact, I think she's become my favorite series character to-date.

A relatively short read, fans will fly through this one in just a few sittings. I am confident that anyone who enjoyed book one will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome of book two. It's unexpected and emotional in ways I was not expecting, giving you hope for the characters at a time I thought there was none.

With at least two more novels in this series planned, I am anxious to see how Nelson handles the stories of Cece and Dom. While Apple and Brick;s stories may be finished, Nelson has no shortage of story to tell with the predicaments she's placed her characters in. I know this reader will be anxiously awaiting!

With all this being said, I am granting Bad Situation a well-earned 4-star review. Perfect for fans of dark romance and the New Adult genre, this series is sure to be a hit! Be sure to add it to your TBR today!

Charlie should be packing her bags for college, but the life ahead of her isn’t one she’s certain she wants. Maybe that’s what led her to sleep with a perfect stranger at the county fair. Finding out he was a carnie was like winning the bonus round of the world’s worst game.

Blue grew up in the carnival, never staying anywhere long enough to call home. He never thought of himself as the type to seduce a local, let alone fall in love with one, but his impulsiveness got the better of him this time. He should go where the carnival takes him, but for the first time he’s not sure if he wants to follow.

When he makes the decision to stick around, Charlie eagerly follows him down the rabbit hole; into a world with no regard for consequences or regret. Most of all, he shows her that home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling they can create and share. For a price. Because the higher the roller coaster goes, the faster it all comes crashing down.

Bad Reputation (Bad Reputation #1) by KB Nelson Review

Hey readers! Happy Monday to you all! It's a big release day for a close author friend of mine and I am so pumped to share my thoughts on this newest release with you all! What are we discussing this time? Bad Reputation, the first novel in the series by the same name by the incredible K.B. Nelson! Before we get to my thoughts, here's a bit about the novel and our author:

She knows better. She just doesn’t care.

Apple Malloy is a woman scorned. Scorned by a society that has shamed her, and scorned by the men who have claimed her. On the verge of college graduation, Apple finds herself entangled in one last game of manipulation, deceit and sexual corruption with her former lover, and constant enabler, Brick Valmont.

Apple sets her sights on Jensen Moon—the enigmatic professor who had failed her the semester prior—and vows revenge. She’ll make him fall in love with her, and then break his heart, leaving his reputation destroyed in the process.

Brick makes her a wager she can’t refuse.

If Apple can seduce Jensen before Brick can sleep with Tyra Young, the beautiful, innocent daughter of a sitting U.S. Senator, then she will emerge victorious. If she wins, she gets the satisfaction that she has beaten him at his own game. If she loses, she must sleep with Brick one last time before heading separate ways.

Apple is a pro at this. She knows how to maneuver men and wrap them around her finger. She knows how to get what she wants, but Jensen tosses an unexpected grenade into her path to victory. Soon, she realizes it is she that might face the worst fate of all.

She falls in love.

Jensen has a power over Apple and it terrifies her. He can make her feel things. He can make her heart race. He might be the only one capable of saving her soul before it’s too late. But one thing is certain—nobody escapes unscathed in this titillating story of manipulation where nothing is as it appears.

Bad Reputation is the first book in the Bad Reputation series, and is loosely based on the 1782 classic novel, Dangerous Liaisons.

My Thoughts:

As some of you may remember, I fell in love with KB Nelson last summer when I devoured her debut novel, Carnival, in one sitting. Carnival, and its' two sequels, would go on to make up one of my all time favorite NA Romance series, securing KB Nelson a spot on my 'auto-read' list. When Nelson approached me months ago with the idea for what would later become Bad Reputation, I didn't know what to expect or how she would ever pull it off. I'm here to tell you folks, she did. And she did it well.

This one was a relatively short read, but Nelson still managed to pack a major punch. Page after page I found the plot to be riveting and I was completely immersed in 'what ifs' and 'what nexts'. This novel deals with a lot of content that I generally wouldn't be interested in reading. In fact, the entire premise is something I probably wouldn't have ever picked up on my own, but after reading it, I'm so glad I took a step outside of my comfort zone to check it out. I was really impressed with the way Nelson was able to write such a plot line, yet utilize her beautiful writing voice in telling the story. It was definitely a gamble that paid off in the end.

So with this series, Nelson is hoping to tell the stories of several different characters in the relation to one singular theme. With book one we follow the stories of best friends and former lovers Apple and Brick, whose stories become intertwined with a number of characters, including Apple's professor, Jensen. Seeing as Bad Reputation is primarily Apple's story, we see the storyline from Apple's side of things. Apple and Brick are two people that I would never talk to in real life. Just being honest. In terms of morality, they have little, and stand for nearly everything I hate. They're both extremely flawed, immature, and so imperfect that you know Nelson did it deliberately. When bad-girl Apple being to fall for her prey, Jensen, the story takes on an entirely new meaning. With a touch of love in her heart, Apple transforms. From cold and heartless to passionate and misunderstood, Apple warmed my heart completely by the closing of the final page. Her character transformation was truly impressive. As for Brick? I hated him more with each passing page. I don't say this often, but I hated his character so much that I'm not sure I'm interested in reading an entire novel about him. He deserves whatever awfulness Nelson decides to throw in his direction! If anything, I found Jensen's character to be a bit comical. He has a horribly heartbreaking backstory that the reader only sees a glimpse of, but through several different aspects of his life, we learn that Jensen is essentially a walking paradox, which made for some really interesting storytelling on Nelson's part!

Folks, I'll be real with you, Bad Reputation was so much more than a surface read for me. At first glance, it's a fun, yet twisted, face paced tale of betrayal and manipulation, but the deep seeded underbelly of this novel makes it Nelson's most thought-provoking work yet. The most prevailing theme in this novel was that of redemption. Is there truly redemption for all acts? In the eyes of society, can anyone be redeemed no matter the circumstances? My thoughts? No. They can't. Some acts are just too terrible to be forgiven. While I believe that one can find a sliver of hope in most every person or situation, some people are just evil. Some acts are unforgivable. Some souls are just so corrupt that redemption is not an option. I'm not sure what Nelson's end-game here is, nor am I sure she considered the profound deepness of her words when writing Bad Reputation, but I strongly question whether these characters are deserving of any inkling of their own 'Happily Ever After'.

During multiple points of the novel I found myself agog in disbelief that something had happened. The lengths at which these characters will go for the act of their own sadistic games really blew me away. I won't lie, as horrible of people as they were, each cruel act had me turning each page faster to see what happened next. I was waiting for the hand of God to smite them where they stood, alas, it seems everyone made it out of book one alive. Humiliated, scarred for life, and emotionally drained, but alive nonetheless.

As you can see, Bad Reputation was definitely a read that gave me a lot to ponder. Only KB Nelson could leave me with such thoughts after reading a novel full of sexual tension and New Adult debauchery. That's a gift people. I've yet to read anything by this author that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. That being said, I am granting Bar Reputation a well-deserved 4-star review. I cannot wait to see what happens next in the series. I hope each passing installment continues to stir such strong emotion as this one did!

*****

Alright folks, that's all I have for you on the topic of Bad Reputation by KB Nelson. The start of an exciting new series, you won't want to miss this one folks. It's definitely one of the more unique reads I've devoured in some time. Looking for something different to add to your TBR? Don't miss this one! I'm anxiously awaiting Nelson's second installment. Be sure to check back soon to see my thoughts on it as well! Until next time, Happy Reading!

EXCERPT 1

Apple and Brick make a bet
I throw my arms around his neck and he steadies himself with his hands pushed against the mattress. “Every girl on campus wants him. He’s like the ultimate prize of every young girls fucked up daddy fantasy. I’ll be the one to claim him.” “Then what?” “I’ll break his heart and destroy his reputation in the process.” He throws his arms around my waist and squeezes me tightly. “You’re quite the vindictive bitch, aren’t you?” I give him another blow against his chest, knocking him onto his back. “You think you know me, Brick. I’ll continue surprising you while you continue to flatline.” “All of this for a bad grade? “ His brow furrows, as if it’s a shocking revelation that something so small could trigger something so cruel. “It’s not like you actually deserved anything higher than an ‘F’.” “It’s not about the grade. It’s not even about him. It’s about being the girl accomplishing what nobody else could.” I buck my hips and bounce against his restrained cock. “I’ll be a legend.” “Wait a minute,” he says and pushes me off him and to the side. “Did you say I was flatlining?” “I’m going to need you to keep up, Brick.” “Nah.” He reaches down and adjusts his dick through the thin, black fabric of boxer briefs. It’s important—apparently—to make sure your junk is comfortable before confronting accusations about your stagnating reputation. “You can’t just put something like that out there.” “What are you going to do about it?” His eyes sparkle. Nothing good can come of this. “How about a bet?” I roll my eyes and spin my feet of the edge of the bed. “You have nothing that I want.” “How about this?” He crawls to me and kneels behind my lingerie-clad body. “You say I’m flatlining. I say I’m just taking my time.” He curls his fingers under the strap of my bra and leans in closer. “But if I can seduce Tyra Young, the unapproachable and untouchable daughter of Senator Young before you can seduce and break that poor man’s heart, then you have to sleep with me one last time before we head separate ways come graduation.” “I’m still not seeing what’s in it for me.” “If I win…” His mouth hovers along my neck, planting short, tempting kisses between each word. “You still win because then you can have this any time you want.” I throw my hand behind his head and crane my neck to meet his gaze. “And if I win—“ “That’s not going to happen,” he interrupts with the most devious of smiles, the kind that could cut diamonds out of glass. “It’s simple. If I win, you have to admit that I’m better at this game than you.” “That’s all?” I raise myself off the bed and onto my feet. “In person and in writing.” I can’t help but smile wickedly. “I’ll frame that confession for generations to come. It’ll stand as the eighth wonder of the world displayed next to the Mona Lisa in The Goddamn Louvre.” “We have a deal.” He scoots to the edge of the bed, his steel abs contracting and expanding as he throws his hand out to shake mine. “I look forward to fucking your brains against that wall behind us.”

EXCERPT 2

Apple tries to get close to Jensen Moon
“I’m going to come out and say it,” I say through ragged breaths. I’m flustered and it’s taking my breath away. “I’m full of shit.” That stops him in his tracks. His interest is officially piqued. “I don’t give a damn about purity or Jesus or two out of the three Jonas Brothers.” “Jonas—“ “Nick managed to escape the occult.” “I have places to be, Apple.” “I need your class to graduate and I know it’s unsavory to ask—“ “I’m not going to sleep with you for a retroactive A.” That hadn’t even crossed my mind, but I’m going to add it to the to-do list. “That’s not even close to the direction I was heading. You’re going straight to Texas there, and I’m standing up here in freezing-cold Canada.” I shove my hand into my pocket and swivel on my feet. “Like I said, I need your class to graduate. And I want to graduate on time, so please don’t tell me I have to take it in the summer.” “You’ll have to take it in the summer.” He nods as if we’ve reached the conclusion of our conversation and prepares to leave me standing in the middle of the quad. “I’ll do whatever it takes.” He looks over his shoulder and smiles. “We’re back to that again, huh?”

Amusement (Carnival #2) by KB Nelson Review

Hey readers! Happy Wednesday! Got a great post ready for ya'll tonight. A review of one of my most anticipated books of 2015! What am I raving about? Amusement by KB Nelson! Here's a bit about the novel and our author before we get to my thoughts:

Love isn’t easy.

Charlie Scott is homesick and tired. She misses the town and the people she left behind. Living a life on the run hasn’t been easy for her, and she’s ready to face the consequences, even if it means leaving the love of her life, Blue, behind.

Home is where the heart is.

Eight months after returning home, Charlie’s life is finally in order. She has a job she loves and her relationship with her father has never been better. But underneath the image of her perfect life, trouble bubbles to the surface.

You can’t escape your past.

Torn between a normal life and the life she left behind, Charlie remains steadfast in her resolve to create a better tomorrow for herself and for her friends. But life has a way of throwing curveballs, and this next one hits her right in the face—Blue returns to Lakeview a changed man.

Second chances are rare..

There are two things Charlie knows for certain; she loves Blue, and he’s not good for her. Charlie must come to terms with her past and her present. She must determine if she could possibly have a future with the man she threw her life away for. She has a second chance at love, but is it worth the risk when her future could hang in the balance?

Don’t miss the exciting, heartfelt final chapter in the epic love story between two lost souls fumbling their way through life and love. Not suitable for those under the age of 18.

"It's not too late to rewrite your stories. You don't have to spend the rest of your life with this shadow over you."     -Blue

"It's like the big fucking bang. It was inevitable that something was going to explode. And out of the ashes were born consequences. But I never thought that falling in love would hurt so fucking bad., like every atom in my bones is being ripped apart when you tell me that 'love isn't enough'."     -Blue

I feel like I start my reviews out with this statement so often these days that the phrase has lost all meaning, but here I go again. I don't generally like romance. There. I changed it to generally. And that's because, honestly, I just don't. Sappy love and girly whatnot is not my favorite thing to read. Sorry, it just isn't. I know that lots of my readers probably roll their eyes at me saying this because in the past year, I've reviewed a lot of romance. This isn't necessarily because I've wanted too, but more because New Adult romance is a huge trend in the literary world right now so... it's made its' way onto the blog.

That being said, however, I do definitely have some favorite within the genre. While each novel I read and review speaks to me in a different way, some really dig in and touch me in a way other books hadn't. Last summer, out of the 'Blue', I came across one of those stories: Carnival. While, admittedly, I only picked it up because it had to do with a carnival setting, I fell in love with it for so many more reasons. Primarily, it was real. The author, KB Nelson, didn't hold anything back. Carnival was dark, gritty, and strangely erotic, but I loved every second of it. This wasn't the perfect romance. This isn't the kind of love you go looking for. It's real love. Real emotion. Real life. That's why I was drawn in and why this series has become one of my favorites of all time.

Now I'm not here to tell you that falling in love with a carnie and becoming one is necessarily the lifestyle of choice (but if it is, good for you, shine on sir or ma'am!), but that this story is much more relatable than other I have read in the genre. Being a new adult is all about making tough choices and mistakes to really learn who you are. KB Nelson has hit that nail on the head so much better than some of the bestselling-award winning authors in the genre. Carnival blew me away and Carnival Nights reminded me of why I fell for this series, but I was nervous to see what Amusement would hold.

Recently KB Nelson announced that this novel would mark the 'end' of the series. The end of Charlie and Blue's story, that is. While the idea of novellas and spin-offs hasn't bee tossed aside, Amusement is meant to be the end of these characters stories. And boy, what an ending it was!

In true One Guy's Guide to Good Reads fashion, let me get my critiques out of the way first.

The only truly negative thing I have to say about this novel was the length. Clocking in at just short of 150 pages, this was a one sitting read. While I was disappointed in the length of the novel, I was more than impressed with the amount of story Nelson was able to give us in such a short span of pages.

On to more positive notes.

Amusement really is an interesting read in the sense that it picks up with the same tone that we are left with the other two stories. While Carnival and Carnival Nights really were more of the night full of partying, Amusements hits us hard right in the very beginning, like a rough hangover from hell you just can't shake. Nelson did an incredible job approaching this novel as a juxtaposition of the others. Charlie and Blue have lived a life of outrageousness and it's finally starting to catch up with them. Charlie finds herself asking if love really is enough to keep them together?

In an effort to find herself, Charlie heads back to Laketown to face the music for everything that's happened. The plotline really ends up coming full circle and by the final pages, we really see how much the lives of our characters have been effected by the course of the novels events.

I won't spoil it for anyone, but it's truly a testament to the authors works to see how scenes from both novels were rewritten and offered up as parallels in Amusement to show how differently scenes can play out, leaving the reader to ponder the question of 'is love really enough?'. By the end of the story, I think everyone will have their own answers, but I do not think that anyone will be disappointed.

All of the awesome characters are present and ready for another fun filled adventure. In Amusement, we really get to get inside the heads of some of the secondary characters I loved in book one. Summer, Tyson, Joey, the crazy weatherman, etc, Amusement was a swan song for the fans. An incredible conclusion to a groundbreaking series.

Nelson really hits on some hard themes with Amusement: love, life, maturity, responsibility, family, etc that will really leave you searching your heart for emotions to fill in all the gaps. This book will wreck you them put you back together slowly, but surely, never forgetting the most important parts.

I was very nervous about the ending to this novel. Between Charlie and Blue, I have become extremely attached to these characters over the past year and was not ready to say goodbye. I was terrified that as a reader, I would be left disappointed by their outcomes. I have to say that not only was I impressed with the ending to this novel, I actually applauded when I finished. The ending was beautifully written and left me not only proud to have read it, but also excited to see what else KB Nelson has in store!

I hate ending this review because it means that for the time being, I must say goodbye to one of my favorite NA series of all time. At least I can end knowing that the storyline was written to perfection at the hands of an incredible talent. Huge kudos to you KB Nelson, in my eyes, you've written a literary masterpiece! Anyone who hasn't checked out this series it really missing out!

All-in-all it should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone that I am granting Amusement by KB Nelson a near-person 5-star review. I loved each page and couldn't have asked for a better ending to an awesome series. This series is perfect for fans of New Adult romance who are looking for something a little different from their normal read!

Why am I waiting?

Wow guys. Just wow. Last summer, I came across Carnival, book one in this series, after a friend reviewed and loved it. I'm usually not one for the romance, but I have an unhealthy attraction to anything that has to do with circuses or carnivals. As soon as I read the blurb, I was hooked. I read Carnival in one sitting, then became one of this series' biggest fans. I won't lie to you, this series isn't for everyone. Anyone who has read from KB Nelson can tell you that her works aren't your average romance story. They're raw, gritty, full of emotion. The situations are more intense than you've ever read. It's like taking any other NA romance read you've ever read and upping the ante by ten percent. Seriously. By the time you finish book one your heart will be racing and you really will feel like you just got off a roller coaster! Nelson kept that same energy going with Carnival Nights, the 'second' novel in this series which serves as the novella, bridging the gaps between books one and two. As a member of Nelson's street team, I was lucky enough to grab an ARC of Amusement this past weekend and ended up also devouring it in one sitting as well. I won't spoil anything for you, but I promise, if you enjoyed Carnival, you will be more than pleased with this 'final' chapter in the duology! I'm saving my 5-star review for release day tomorrow, but do yourself a favor and go ahead and add this one to your TBR in the mean time! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Faithless (Part 3) by KB Nelson Review

Hey all and Happy Saturday! Hope you are all having an amazing weekend. I know lots of my readers love the romance genre so I wanted to be sure to get this review out to the masses! This time on the chopping block? Faithless (Part 3) by KB Nelson! You guys may remember KB Nelson as the author behind Carnival, one of my favorite reads of 2014! Here's a bit about Faithless (part 3) and our author before we get to my thoughts:

Faithless Serial (Part 3) by K.B. Nelson
Publication date:
January 2015
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

She's a stripper. He's a preacher. Her name's Faith, and he's been faithless since the day she went away.

Faith Richards knows she'll never be able to outrun her demons, but she's not looking for absolution. She's looking for release. When she's forced to return home by circumstances she'd rather not discuss, she runs straight to Noah. The only boy that could ever make her feel alive. The only boy who ever truly broke her heart. The only boy who could possibly save her from herself.

But Noah isn't a boy anymore...

Noah Parker is a man torn, fighting to understand his place in this world after his latest run-in with tragedy. Everyone he's ever loved has left him, either on a greyhound bus or in a casket. He no longer believes the words he preaches and his life hangs in the balance of honesty. Reuniting with Faith might be the only thing that can save him, but based on their tumultuous history, it's more than likely it'll destroy him.

Faithless is the story of two broken people searching for the impossible: a love strong enough to put the pieces of their broken hearts back together. Their romance is forbidden. Their love is undeniable. Their lives hang in the balance. And when their world begins to burn to the ground, they'll be faced with one impossible decision: can they live with who they've become?

I grew up on a farm in Ohio, but that's not very interesting, is it? When I'm not writing you can find me doing one of two things; getting lost on highways or getting lost in the lives of fictional characters. If my heart had two feet, one foot would be in romance and the other solidly in geekdom. I hope you'll all follow me on my journey through this carnival they call life. I promise there will be a happy ending.

My Thoughts:

Well, here we are. In just one short month, KB Nelson has delivered to us a completed serial full of romance, angst, and tension so thick you need a knife to get through it. Now that it's over what can we say? Well. It's over. That much is for sure. I really wasn't sure what to expect from this final part of Faithless. Any fan of KB Nelson will straight up tell you to always expect the unexpected. Even I wasn't expecting how this one would end.

I actually really liked the way that Faithless ends. Although I will say with honesty that the finale actually creates more questions than it could ever hope to answer. It left me with this hollow pit in my stomach. Was it sadness? Happiness? I'm not entirely sure. I know this review isn't really answering any questions, but I will just openly tell you that this serial isn't one that words will ever do a great job of explaining. You have to read it to get the full effect.

It's pretty well known at this point that I do not really care for romance novels generally. Faithless has proven to be one of those exceptions because of just how unique it is. There isn't any 'love at first sight', there's no 'unreal' aspect to the story. But how believable is it? In my opinion it is and it isn't, but that isn't up for debate here. Everything that happens in this story will speak differently to each reader.

As with any book I read, there are things that worked, and things that didn't with this story. This was the first serial I have read and I think there is serious potential in the future of serials. I do have to say, I would much prefer a full novel though. In a serial you really just do not get the character development that I like to see in the novels that I read. That being said, there is so much I would have liked to learn about Faith and Luke/Noah in this series that I just didn't seen. I know there is only so much you can get out of a three part serial, but I was constantly left wanting more.

In the end, I was really glad to see Faithless have a much deserved, completed story line. Our story really comes full circle and leaves you with the knowledge that all of our actions have consequences. Not only on our lives, but also on the lives of those who surround us. That being said, I am granting Faithless (Part 3) a well deserved 4-star review! While I thoroughly enjoyed this series, I know it will not be for everyone. Take not that this novel has strong language, and extremely adult situations. I'm sure that if you are a fan of dark romances, this is the read for you!

Alright folks, that's all I have for you on the topic of Faithless part 3 by KB Nelson! All you guys who loved parts one and two will definitely fall in love with part three! Until next time, Happy Reading!
