THE WORLD WITHOUT A FUTURE - CHAPTERS 1-5
by Nazarea Andrews
Nazarea's Thoughts:
"I always said I wouldn’t write a book about zombies. Because I had nothing new to add to the genre. As much as I loved them, they was nothing new.
And then Ren showed up in my hand ad, and I couldn’t get her to stop talking. She came with a friend—and he stood in the back of my head, glaring at the whole world while Ren told me EVERYTHING. How the world fell apart, and how they pieced it back together. Chapter 1 is all about that—the broken world. Chapter 2 and 3 were a lot of fun for me, because I got to dip my toes in the world that Ren knew. The world she grew up in, with all of the comforts of childhood. And then in chapter 4 and 5, I tore it apart. And I introduced Finn. That scene where Finn, Nurrin and Collin are running from the horde in 8 is still one of my favorite scenes. It shows a lot of things—Finn and Collin’s teamwork, the danger of the zombies (woot!!) and how much Finn and Ren dislike each other—or something.
My favorite line from that first five chapters is:
I was born the day the world ended. I would rather walk naked and unarmed a mile from the wall than ask Finn O’Malley for a damned thing."
