I'm not a huge romance fan, but I am obsessed with Chelsea's ability to craft an amazing story. I have had the great fortune to read Right Kind of Wrong in preparation of this tour and will be giving my thoughts via review below! Jenna Lacombe needs complete control, whether it’s in the streets . . . or between the sheets. So when she sets out on a solo road trip to visit her family in New Orleans, she’s beyond annoyed that the infuriatingly sexy Jack Oliver wants to hitch a ride with her. socks. She lives with her husband and two children, who graciously tolerate her
inability to resist teenage drama on TV and her complete lack of skill in the

My Thoughts:
Chelsea Fine, Chelsea Fine… Here
we are again. My seventh journey into the literary legacy that is your writing.
Chelsea, have I mentioned you are a national treasure lately? Because you are. One
of these day they are going to come out with a second round of US State
quarters and YOUR face is going to graze the Arizona state quarter. Forreal. Do
this tell you guys anything about how highly I view Chelsea Fine? Let me sum up
my feelings on RKoW in one word: Wow.
Chelsea, my hat goes off to you, you’ve done it AGAIN.
My regular readers will tell you
that Ethan here isn’t the biggest fan of the romance genre. I know you couldn’t
tell it by looking through this blog’s archives, but NA Romance is just one of
those genres I love to hate. On one hand I love reading books about MY age
group dealing with MY kind of problems! On the other hand…. “gross… romance…”.
Well. I have to say Chelsea Fine has made me a believer in the romance genre.
Prior to reading this series I had a very different view on romance novels. I
thought they were all smutty and trashy with no real message. Thankfully Mrs.
Fine, along with some other amazing authors, have really changed my views on
the romance genre and for that I am thankful. Let me flash back for a minute to
Best Kind of Broken, book 1 in this
series. BKoB was, and to this day
remains, my favorite romance novel of all time. I knew it was a series and I
knew Chelsea would have some big shoes to fill in order to beat that one for
me. Perfect Kind of Trouble came and
it was really good, but it still didn’t even compare to the amazingness of BKOB for me. Needless to say I was a
little nervous about how I would like RKoW.
Well, I should have never been nervous because, of course, Chelsea blew it out
of the park. While I will say this one didn’t have the same effect on me as BKoB, I still LOVED IT.
One of my favorite things about
Chelsea’s writing style is the inspirational quotes she fits into her novels.
Some of my all time favorite book quotes come from the works of Chelsea Fine. RKoW was no exception. My ARC is FULL of
notes and highlights for some amazing quotes. Chelsea makes her characters so
real. Jack and Jenna were probably some of the most real characters I have read
and I loved that. The characters in this novel are so real and you can really
feel their internal struggles. Take this amazing quote from Jack (my favorite
from the novel): “Strength isn’t about what you can and cannot achieve. It’s about what
you will and will not do IN ORDER to achieve.” I think that is such a
true statement and one that Jack and Jenna both learn by the end of the events
in RKoW.
Not only was RKoW full of a great plot line and great character development, it
also had something that I think was important to note. This particular novel
had more than enough romance to keep the ladies interested, BUT it also boasted
quite a bit of action and suspense that I believe would keep the male fans
interested. I know I’m not the only guy reader out there so COME ON GUYS. So
it’s all these things, and then what? It’s also pretty hilarious at points. One
of the funniest parts of this entire series comes into play during RKoW and can be summed up in one quote
from Jack, “I never joke about blind people driving.” Seriously, I laughed
so hard. Read it people, read it.
I think the setting for RKoW is what made it so unique. Unlike
the previous two novels, this one doesn’t really take place in the Sulfur
Springs, Arizona area. This one features some awesome locales including the
amazing city of New Orleans, Louisiana. Chelsea really pushed her boundaries
with this novel and I feel like it’s a gamble that really worked well for her.
With the Louisiana setting we got a great mix of voodoo, Southern culture, and
excitement of the French Quarter. It was really neat to see this story take to
a whole new setting and still be just as awesome! Most of the novel centers
around Jack and Jenna’s cross country road trip from AZ to LA, but it really
isn’t corny like a road trip novel! Again, Chelsea really kept this one “real”
and for readers like me, it was a really pleasant experience to read.
Chelsea really touches on a
really popular subject in this novel: tattoos. Usually I am not a huge tattoo
person and tend to kind of sigh and roll my eyes when tattoos come into the
picture. But again, not everyone is Chelsea Fine. Some people write some really
raunchy, trashy stuff with tattoos, but somehow this was really deep and
classy. Something I really appreciated. Two of the characters in the Finding Fate series are “artists” so I
really liked the allusion to the body being a canvas of expression. I
particularly enjoyed this Jenna quote pertaining to tattoos: “That’s
what the tattoos are: storytellers. Not always, but most of the time. Some
stories we tell with our tongues, in words and kisses and sometimes even the
food we make for others. Other stories are just for ourselves and are told in
tattoos and scares and the shields we erect around our hearts.”
Seriously people. Chelsea Fine just made that DEEP. Woah.
Okay I am going to jump on my
soapbox and talk a little about two of my favorite things from RKoW for a second. One, and most
importantly: MARVIN MAKES A CAMEO!!! Anyone who has read my reviews of the
other two books knows that Marvin is/was my favorite character of the series!
Who is Marvin? The goat! Woohoo! I was so pumped to read that Marvin came back
for a paragraph! J
Second, Chelsea has added a new character to the mix in RKoW. Why is that a big deal? His name is Ethan. THAT’S why! Now I
know this is total coincidence, but it really made my day. It isn’t often that
“Ethans” show up in books so I was PUMPED that he was in this one! He is
compared to Jenna’s siblings as being “loud, colorful, and filled with attitude”.
We’re just going to act like Chelsea wrote me into this book. Okay? Okay. Cool.
Go me!
So I’ve covered characters,
setting, themes, etc and serious guys, I am just going wild with all the
awesome things I have to say about not only this novel, but this entire series.
I am so sad to see the end of this saga. Chelsea always leaves me wanting more!
I have heard there is some more awesome in the works and that we all need to be
on the lookout for what the amazing Chelsea has up her sleeve, but I’m telling
ya, I just can’t hardly wait! Thank you Chelsea for delivering to us yet
another amazing series.

earlier this week when I was asked what one
quote I would use to describe the novel (we are both avid highlighters) and
after scouring through my many, many notes I think I have found the perfect
one: “We
could argue until dawn, but it wouldn’t matter because Jenna still believes she
can outwit her heart. And until she thinks otherwise, I’m just a bloody guy in
a bathroom waiting for the girl of my dreams to realize she’s in love with me.”
Everyone stop what you are doing. Stand up. And applaud Chelsea Fine.
Seriously, perfect. I wouldn’t change one single thing about any of the novels
in this series. While they all had their quirks, in the end I strongly believe
that this one of the very best romance series I have ever read and I am so
thankful to have gone on this journey with Chelsea!
All-in-all, I am giving Right Kind of Wrong a well deserved 5-star review. Thank you so much
Chelsea, not only for this amazing series, but for opening my eyes to what
amazing writing can come from the genre of New Adult Romance. I look forward to
the next amazing literary adventure I get the great honor of joining you on!
